The vehicle fleet of Harrison County, Mississippi, is all set to embrace a technological upgrade. According to the latest reports, the approval of GPS installation in the vehicle fleet of the county has been passed by the Harrison County Board of Supervisors.
The reports also added that after the completion of the installation process, the county would start the installation of GPS boxes on sections of large equipment such as mowers.
By implementing the technology of GPS, it would be possible to improve the longevity of the vehicle. The GPS can send alerts for routine maintenance of the vehicle as well as prove to be greatly resourceful during cases of emergencies.
The phase of vehicle installation would soon come to an end as only several cars are left to obtain the equipment out of a total of over 200 units.
Jeff Clark, the Public Information Officer of the Harrison County Board of Supervisors, elaborated on how the GPS technology would help them. Clark stated that GPS technology would enable them to know where their fleet is, along with who is in the vehicle at any given time. Even when any of the vehicles get stolen, it would be possible to track it down immediately, thanks to GPS, added Clark.
