Trump Divulges New Space Force Logo, Invites Fury of Star Trek Fans

US President Donald Trump has revealed the latest Space Force logo on Friday that appears to bear strong resemblance with the Star Trek’s Starfleet Starship duty insignia. And, fans of Star Trek pointed it out immediately.

Trump took to his official Twitter handle to post the image of the insignia for the latest branch of the US military.

While sharing the logo at his social media handle, the US President said, “After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force, the Sixth Branch of our Magnificent Military!”

The striking similarity also left several critics baffled as if they had been annihilated by Captain Kirk’s phaser.

Additionally, several Twitter users also mentioned that the symbol divulged by 45th US President apparently looks quite the same to the insignia from the popular sci-fi TV series.

However, another section of a large number of users emphasized that the logo was actually based on the US Air Force.

The recent controversy has been generated soon after reports indicated earlier last week that Space Force troops would be donning woodland camouflaged uniforms.

In a bid to reaffirm the report, a Space Force official released a statement claiming the logo unveiled by the US President is in fact the latest official logo.

Meanwhile, another Space Force official claimed that Trump selected the latest logo from several alternatives offered by the Department of the Air Force.
